Save over €300 with this self-adhesive rubber seal for your R52's rear lid. This replaces the worn rubber strip above the chrome trim around the rear lid and quarter panels.

Note: This is not a perfect solution, but it significantly improves the appearance.

The problem:

Over time, the factory-installed weather strips crack and become brittle from sun and weather exposure. This can lead to rubber flaking, dirt buildup, water leaks causing rust, and increased wind noise due to poor soundproofing.

The fix:

Our sealing strip fits your OEM chrome trims, saving you the high cost of replacing the entire trim. Unlike other options that only replace the top section, our seal covers the whole area for a complete, clean finish. It ensures a tight seal against water and replicates the original factory design. With 3M adhesive tape, it provides a secure, long-lasting fit.

Instructions

Required Tools:

• Sharp craft knife

• New rubber strip

• Sponge and bucket of water (for cleaning)

• Torx screwdriver

Instructions:

1. Remove the chrome trim by loosening all the bolts on the inside of the rear lid. This will give you access to the rubber seal.

2. Clean the surface thoroughly to ensure maximum adhesion of the glue.

3. Completely remove the top part of old rubber with a knife.

4. Apply the new rubber strip along the flat edge, allowing it to overlap onto the roof material. Press firmly.

5. Ensure the strip is correctly positioned, as the adhesive hardens quickly (in less than 15 seconds).

6. Trim the strip as necessary to fit the correct length and around the third brake light.

7. Optionally, use super glue along the edges for extra adhesion.

Note:

• Avoid using a high-pressure washer on the roof to prevent damaging the seal.

• If you need to remove the seal for additional cutting work, detach the side latches of the roof and use suitable support for the roof.
